homophobic westboro church protests production of laramie project

We have been told that the Westboro Baptist Church intends to picket the production this weekend (October 22, 23 and 24) of the Laramie Project at Buffalo Grove High School. Join us Saturday evening starting at 6:30 PM at the school (Dundee Road and Arlington Heights Road in Buffalo Grove) to show that intolerance and hate are not welcome!

Peace Walk

September 18 peace walk

Saturday, September 18, Northwest Suburban Peace & Education Project joined with the South Church and  other  peace and justice groups59826_1562697318158_1557096891_31406340_959445_s for a walk and vigil to mark the International Day of Peace (September 21). The walk was followed by a fair at the South Church.

 

ASVAB Test

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Township District 214 revises information about ASVAB test.

Chicago, IL - September 15, 2008 – The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) test is offered to District 214 students once during the school year; usually in November. Northwest Suburban Peace & Education Project began investigating the details related to the administration of the test after reading information forwarded by other peace and justice groups. We discovered that the test results for District 214 students are forwarded to the military although that is not clear in the information distributed by the high schools. In fact, in the Prospect Parent Newsletter from August/September of this year (page 18) the announcement makes no mention that test results are forwarded to the military.
